Video surfaces showing mother being beaten before her 14-year-old starts shooting

Chicago, Illinois – We previously reported the story of 35-year-old, Carlishia Hood, and her 14-year-old son being charged with the murder of 32-year-old Jeremy Brown. Various media outlets are reporting that Hood and Brown were arguing at the West Pullman Hotdog Stand. Hood then resorted to contacting her 14-year-old-son to find her and shoot Brown.

But a cellphone video has surfaced and is circulating showing a totally different viewpoint. The 13-second video opens with Brown raising his voice and threatening Hood that she better get her food and leave.

Brown repeatedly yells with great anger, “Get your food. I am going to tell you one more time or I am going to knock you out!!!!”

Not once did Hood pose a threat to Brown nor did she call her son for help. Brown punches Hood twice before a single gunshot is heard and the video is cut.

This video clearly shows a different scenario than what was previously reported. It appears Hood’s 14-year-old son was only acting in self-defense to prevent his mother from being attacked.
